On the morning of September 4, 2024, the School of Law of Shenzhen University held the orientation ceremony for the incoming 2024 cohort of undergraduate and graduate students at the Wenhui Auditorium, Lihu Campus. The ceremony warmly welcomed all the new students. Zhang Bin, President of the Shenzhen Lawyers Association, along with the School of Law leadership, faculty representatives, and all counselors attended the event, which was hosted by Deputy Party Secretary Lin Jilin.

During the ceremony, Professor Zhou Ya introduced the concept of "law" to the freshmen in a relaxed and humorous manner, encouraging them to become upright and kind legal professionals. Yang Yuhang, the representative of the 2024 undergraduate freshmen, shared his story with Shenzhen University, while Chen Xiting, the representative of the graduate freshmen, reflected on her experiences at the School of Law and looked forward to the future. Zhang Bin, President of the Shenzhen Lawyers Association, offered advice to the students based on his years of legal practice experience. Dean Xiong Wei then presented four expectations: the integration of knowledge and action, effective use of resources, a strong sense of social responsibility, and the development of a global perspective. The ceremony concluded with enthusiastic applause, marking the successful beginning of the new academic year.
