SZU Team Wins National Second Prize (2nd Place Overall) at the 2026 ICC Moot Court Competition (English Division)
March 29, 2026

From March 7 to 9, 2026, the China National Oral Rounds of the International Criminal Court Moot Court Competition (English Division) were held at Anhui University. The Shenzhen University team delivered outstanding performance, winning the National Second Prize and ranking 2nd overall by team score, placing 11th nationally by total score—another record for SZU in the ICC series.

The case centered on the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court and cutting-edge topics in international criminal law, requiring three 10,000-word English memorials and English oral pleadings. Coached by Associate Professor Long Jie, the SZU team comprised two student coaches and six undergraduates. Preparation began in June 2025, covering summer training, memorial refinement, and oral advocacy practice, securing qualification for the on-site rounds. During the oral rounds, team members stayed composed, delivered precise rebuttals, and defense oralist Chen Yingying scored 90 points. The honor reflects the team’s hard work and broad support, showcasing SZU students’ expertise in international law and teamwork. Further brilliance is expected ahead.
