1 Academic Research Achievements

In the past five years, the school has been awarded 30 projects by the National Social Science Foundation, including 3 major projects. During the 13th Five-Year Plan period, the faculty published 364 papers (including one in Social Sciences in China and two in China Legal Science), 45 academic monographs, 18 National Social Science Funds (including one major project and one key project), one National Self-Science Fund, 42 provincial and ministerial projects, 37 municipal and other projects, more than 10 consulting reports approved by the central, provincial and municipal leadership, and one second prize of the Ministry of Education's Excellent Achievement Award for College Research (Humanities and Social Sciences).

2 Rapid Development of High-level Teaching and Research Platforms

So far, the school has set up a research base for the Basic Law of Hong Kong and Macao with the National People's Congress, a research center for Hong Kong, Macao and international issues in accordance with the Ministry of Education, a research base for the theory of judicial protection of intellectual property with the Supreme People's Court and a research center for legislation of Special Economic Zones in SZU with the Shenzhen Municipal People's Congress. Guangdong Intellectual Property Office and the Department of Education have recognized SZU as the Intellectual Property Talent Cultivation Base of Guangdong. The State Intellectual Property Office has set up the "National Intellectual Property Training (Guangdong) Base" in SZU. The Taiwan Law Research Institute of SZU was authorized by the Taiwan Affairs Office of Guangdong and the Provincial Taiwan Research Center to be included in the research institutions of the Taiwan Affairs Office of Guangdong. SZU, the Shenzhen Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection, and the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Justice also cooperated to establish the first compliance research base in China, "Shenzhen University Compliance Research Institute".

The research base for the Basic Law of Hong Kong and Macao has national influence in the research of Hong Kong and Macao issues, undertaking 19 projects of the Hong Kong and Macao Basic Law Committee of the NPC Standing Committee. More than 60 consulting reports have been adopted by higher authorities, and more than 10 approvals have been obtained. The research center for Special Economic Zone Legislation has accepted a number of legislative research projects of the Shenzhen Municipal People's Congress, and the conversion of the results is remarkable. Nationwide, the two major bases of intellectual property have made significant contributions to the cultivation of legal talents and theoretical research based on the location advantages of SZU in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Shenzhen as a pilot demonstration area of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
