Game Introduction:

The Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot stands as one of the world's preeminent moot court competitions in commercial arbitration. Originating in Vienna, Austria, during the academic year 1992-1993, the inaugural Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Court Competition, commonly known as the Vis Moot, was established in honor of the esteemed international commercial law scholar Professor Willem Cornelis Vis. This event, conducted in English and under the auspices of institutions such as the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), serves the purpose of fostering the study of cutting-edge issues in international trade law and international commercial arbitration among law students from diverse backgrounds. It also serves to cultivate their skills in resolving international commercial disputes. As one of the largest and most influential moot court competitions worldwide, the Vis Moot has expanded to include the Willem C. Vis East Moot, held annually in Hong Kong, China.

The CIETAC Cup, organized by the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC), is an annual event focused on arbitration law. Since its inception in 2000, the CIETAC Cup has successfully hosted 19 sessions, attracting over 5,000 students from more than 200 prestigious colleges and universities nationwide. Mirroring the topics and rules of the Vis Moot and conducted in English, the CIETAC Cup serves dual purposes: as the domestic selection competition for the Vis Moot and as the world's premier recognized pre-moot event for the Vis Moot.
