Professor Xu Xianming, Vice President of the China Law Society, Visits SZU and Speaks at the “Forum"

On the afternoon of April 1, 2024, Professor Xu Xianming, Vice President of the China Law Society, visited the Law School of Shenzhen University (SZU) and served as a guest speaker at the 193rd session of the "Shenzhen University Forum." His lecture was titled "Xi Jinping's Thought on the Rule of Law and the Path of China's Legal System." This forum was co-hosted by the Social Sciences Department and the SZU Law School. The event was attended by over 100 faculty members and students, including SZU Vice President Wang Yongcheng, Social Sciences Department Director Zeng Xianju, Shenzhen Talent Group Chairman Gao Dawei, and members of the Law School. The lecture was chaired by Dean Xiong Wei.

Professor Wang Yongcheng, Vice President of SZU, delivered a welcome speech on behalf of the university. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to Professor Xu Xianming, highly praising his outstanding achievements and contributions in the fields of legal research, legal education, and service to the national rule of law.

Professor Xu introduced the origins and development of the legal discipline and explained the formation process of Xi Jinping's Thought on the Rule of Law in his lecture. He discussed its significance from four perspectives: theoretical significance, political significance, practical significance, and world significance.

At the end of the lecture, Wang presented a commemorative plaque of “Shenzhen University Forum” to Prof. Xu Xianming. Afterward, Xu had a discussion with the representatives of the faculty of the Law School to hear the report of Dean Xiong Wei on the construction of the law discipline and the cultivation of the rule of law talents of SZU. Prof. Xu highly praised the achievements of the Law School and encouraged all the faculty and staff of the Law School to continue to work hard, give full play to the regional advantages and policy advantages, and strive to build a high-level law school.
