The Ninth National Members' Congress of the China Law Society concluded in Beijing on 11 January 2025. Chen Wenqing was elected as President, and Wang Hongxiang was appointed as Executive Vice President. The meeting approved the work report of the Eighth Council and the resolution on amendments to the charter.

President Xi Jinping outlined the direction for the work of the Law Society. The new Council will thoroughly implement its spirit, unite legal scholars and practitioners, uphold the leadership of the Party, grasp the main thread of ideological guidance, ground itself in reality to promote legal research, focus on the cultivation of legal talent, and advance innovation while upholding principles, contributing legal strength to the construction of a strong nation and the rejuvenation of the nation.

Professor Xiong Wei, Dean of the Law School at Shenzhen University, was elected as a council member of the 9th Council of the China Law Society. During the meeting's discussions, he spoke on how to implement the spirit of President Xi Jinping, advance the development of the rule of law, and cultivate legal talent.
