April 25, 2025

The 2024 Shenzhen "Top 10 Rule of Law Events"" and "Outstanding Police Officers" awards ceremony was held at the Hetao Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone on April 23, 2025. Shenzhen University (SZU) Law School's successful application for a first-class doctoral program in law was recognized as one of the city's most significant events on law of the year. SZU Vice President Wang Yongcheng attended the event, while Law School Dean Xiong Wei accepted the award on behalf of the university.

Dean Xiong emphasized that this milestone aligns with national strategies to strengthen legal education, addressing Shenzhen's previous gap in high-level legal talent cultivation. Moving forward, SZU Law School will deepen research in cross-border legal affairs, intellectual property, and other key areas, aiming to build a world-class, innovative law school that supports the Greater Bay Area's development.

The selection, organized by Shenzhen's Political and Legal Affairs Commission, highlights the city's progress in rule of law. The establishment of SZU's law doctoral program marks a major breakthrough in legal education, reinforcing Shenzhen's role as a "pioneering demonstration city for rule of law".
