The School of Law at Shenzhen University held a graduate education symposium in Room 418 of Minglü Building on the afternoon of June 24, 2025, with over 40 leaders, supervisors, and administrative staff in attendance. Professor Liu Jun, a distinguished professor and former dean, was invited to deliver a keynote speech, sharing his experiences and proposing systematic suggestions.
Dean Xiong Wei highly praised Professor Liu's contributions to the "14th Five-Year Plan," the "Huashang Elite Class" teaching program, the construction of research platforms, and talent recruitment, noting that his management experience and educational philosophy are invaluable assets to the school.
Professor Liu put forward three core suggestions: first, supervisors should care for students, avoid letting academic disagreements affect evaluations, and standardize thesis assessment criteria; second, adhere to a balanced approach that is strict in the research and training process but lenient during the thesis defense. Third, strengthen collective education within discipline groups, clarify the training objectives for different degrees, focus on skills development, and emphasize the need to enhance students' independent learning and application abilities in the digital era.
Multiple faculty representatives recalled his contributions to discipline development, teaching management, and humanistic care and pledged to carry forward his academic spirit. At the end of the meeting, the school presented him with a retirement commemorative plaque to express respect and gratitude.
