On July 16, 2025, the School of Law at Shenzhen University held a symposium on internationalization work, focusing on the development of foreign-related rule of law, cross-border cooperation, and talent cultivation. The meeting was chaired by Dean Xiong Wei, co-organized by the Institute of Foreign-Related Rule of Law, and attended by Vice Dean Chen Meng and over 20 faculty members.
Dean Xiong Wei outlined the school's progress and plans for internationalization: undergraduate programs include an experimental class on foreign-related rule of law, master's programs feature international arbitration projects, and doctoral programs actively enroll international students. Future initiatives will focus on expanding overseas exchanges, introducing English-taught master's programs and foreign faculty, and comprehensively enhancing internationalization.
Participants proposed suggestions such as strengthening the faculty team, expanding exchanges with Hong Kong and Macao, incorporating Hong Kong's common law and arbitration resources, optimizing curriculum design to meet industry needs, targeted recruitment of international students, collaborating with enterprises to provide internships, and exploring flexible academic systems and course linkage mechanisms for international student programs.
The symposium helped build consensus, and the school will leverage the advantages of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone to promote the development of an international talent cultivation system and research platforms, contributing to the nation's foreign-related rule of law efforts.
