The 2025 Annual Conference of the Ministry of Education's Teaching Guidance Committee for Law Programs and the China Law Society Legal Education Research Committee Successfully Held in Shenzhen

On October 25-26, 2025, the 2025 Annual Conference of the Ministry of Education's Teaching Guidance Committee for Law Programs and the China Law Society Legal Education Research Committee, along with the symposium on "Building a Legal Education System with Chinese Characteristics," was successfully held in Shenzhen, Guangdong. The event was hosted by Shenzhen University School of Law, with co-organization by the Beijing Zeng Xianyi Legal Education and Legal Culture Foundation, Beijing Jingshi (Shenzhen) Law Firm, and Beijing Lianggao (Shenzhen) Law Firm.

On the morning of October 25, the opening ceremony took place at the Shenzhen Capital Market College, presided over by Du Huanfang. Leaders and experts including Li Qingquan, Chen Zhenbo, Jin Yan, Ma Huaide, and Zhang Wenxian delivered remarks. The plenary report session, chaired by Han Dayuan, featured theme reports by senior law professors and renowned law school deans on the core topic.

The annual conference included 11 parallel sessions, discussing frontier issues such as integrating Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law into legal education, practice-oriented reforms, artificial intelligence, interdisciplinary integration, innovation in legal talent cultivation systems, new liberal arts construction in law, and clinical legal education.

On October 26, the closing ceremony, chaired by Wang Jian, saw representatives from multiple sessions report on their discussions. Dean Xiong Wei of Shenzhen University School of Law, representing the host unit, thanked all staff and participants. He then conducted a flag handover ceremony with Qin Tianbao, Dean of Wuhan University School of Law, the next host institution. The successful convening of this conference not only built consensus and clarified pathways for constructing a legal education system with Chinese characteristics, but also laid a talent foundation and injected theoretical momentum for advancing the rule of law in China.
